Russia Reaffirms Commitment to Strategic Partnership with Iran

Sergei Naryshkin, head of Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service, confirmed Moscow’s adherence to the strategic partnership treaty with Tehran, highlighting robust intelligence cooperation between the two nations.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Sergei Naryshkin, Director of Russia‘s Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR), has reaffirmed Moscow’s commitment to the strategic partnership agreement with Iran. Naryshkin emphasized that Russia will continue to honor the pact, underscoring the strong intelligence collaboration between the two countries.

Naryshkin noted that the SVR maintains excellent cooperation with Iranian intelligence agencies, a partnership that will persist under any circumstances. He also addressed the expiration of the New START treaty between Russia and the U.S., stating that the Kremlin will adopt a responsible approach following the treaty’s lapse.

The New START treaty, signed in 2010, obligated both nations to limit their nuclear arsenals to a maximum of 1,550 warheads each.
