Israeli Defense Minister Vows No Withdrawal from Southern Lebanon

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz has issued provocative statements regarding Lebanese resistance, claiming that the Israeli army’s presence at five points in southern Lebanon was not part of any ceasefire agreement. Katz asserted that this presence was imposed by Israel and accepted by the American side.
Continuing his assertions, Katz stated, “We will not withdraw from Lebanon as long as Hezbollah has weapons.” This statement comes despite the Lebanese government, army, and resistance adhering to the ceasefire agreement. However, the Israeli regime has been consistently violating the agreement and persisting with its aggressions, disregarding regional and international calls to cease these actions.
The ceasefire agreement between the Israeli regime and Lebanon was signed on November 28, 2024. According to the terms of this agreement, Israeli soldiers were expected to withdraw from southern Lebanon within two months. Nevertheless, the Israeli regime, in defiance of its commitments, has maintained its military forces in certain strategic positions in southern Lebanon and continues to launch attacks on the country.
