Russia Claims Downing of 754 Ukrainian Drones in 24 Hours

The Russian Ministry of Defense announced that its air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 754 Ukrainian drones over various regions of Russia within the past 24 hours.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the Russian Ministry of Defense has reported the downing of 754 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles across different Russian territories. Sputnik, citing data from the Mehr News Agency, stated that Russian air defense systems successfully intercepted and neutralized these drones over a 24-hour period.

The ongoing conflict, which escalated following Russia’s recognition of the independence of the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics in the Donbas region on February 21, 2022, by President Vladimir Putin, has seen continuous military operations. President Putin initiated what he termed a “special military operation” against Ukraine three days later, on February 24, 2022, transforming the tense Moscow-Kyiv relations into a full-scale military confrontation.

In response to Russia’s actions, the United States and Western nations have imposed extensive sanctions against Moscow and provided billions of dollars in military armaments and equipment to Kyiv.
