Lebanese MP Denounces Trump’s Claims of Direct Hezbollah Contact

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, a member of the “Loyalty to Resistance” bloc in the Lebanese Parliament, Ali al-Miqdad, has forcefully refuted U.S. President Donald Trump‘s assertions about direct communication links with Hezbollah. Miqdad highlighted these claims as a new instance of fabrication by the White House, as reported by Al-Ahed news website via Mehr News Agency.
He unequivocally stated that there is no direct connection with Americans, neither with President Trump personally nor with any other individual. Message exchanges are exclusively conducted indirectly through intermediaries and countries such as Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt. These nations are responsible for managing these contacts, whether with the Lebanese government or through Nabih Berri, the Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament.
This disclosure follows Trump’s recent claims that he was in direct contact with both Hezbollah and the Israeli regime, and that he had secured their agreement for a ceasefire.
Miqdad further indicated that even the Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament was greatly surprised and shocked by the unilateral agreement announced in Washington. This surprise stemmed from the fact that, despite prior coordination through mediators, the Speaker had not anticipated such an outcome or result from U.S. officials.
