Saudi Arabia Denies Attack on King Khalid Air Base, Cites Yemen Missile Launch

Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Defense spokesperson Turki Al-Malki has refuted reports of an attack on the King Khalid Air Base, stating that warning sirens in the Al-Kharj province were activated as a precautionary measure following a ballistic missile launch from Yemen that disappeared near the border.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Defense spokesperson Turki Al-Malki on Monday denied reports of an attack on the Sultan Air Base. Al-Malki stated that the news circulating about an assault on the Sultan Air Base in Al-Kharj province is inaccurate.

He further explained that the activation of warning sirens in Al-Kharj province earlier on Monday was a preemptive measure in response to a ballistic missile fired from Yemen. The missile reportedly disappeared near the borders.

The spokesperson for the Saudi Ministry of Defense indicated that investigations are ongoing to identify the precise details surrounding the activation of the warning sirens. Previously, some sources had suggested that explosions were heard at the Sultan Air Base.
