Israeli Media Acknowledges Global Perception of Israel as Threat to Peace

Israeli newspapers are reporting a significant disconnect between self-perception and global perception, with international observers increasingly viewing Israel as a destabilizing force and a threat to global peace and security. The media outlets highlight concerns over strategic failures and weakened international support.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, recent reports from Israeli media outlets reveal a growing acknowledgment of a stark contrast between how Israel views itself and the image it projects internationally. Data published by the Mehr News Agency, citing Al Mayadeen, indicates that the Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper has conceded a profound chasm between Israel’s internal self-assessment and its external portrayal in other nations.

The reports suggest that other countries perceive Israel as an aggressor, identifying it as a primary factor threatening global peace and stability. This sentiment is further underscored by earlier critiques from the Israeli newspaper Haaretz, which in a previous editorial, lambasted Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Haaretz argued that Netanyahu’s “disastrous decision” to involve the United States in a joint conflict with Iran and deploy the Israeli army to southern Lebanon had led to a strategic defeat against Iran, described as Israel’s “greatest and most dangerous enemy.” The editorial also noted a subsequent weakening of American support for Tel Aviv.

Haaretz further conceded that the conflict initiated against Iran, predicated on the “false illusion” of regime change and the expectation of an “easy victory” over Hezbollah, has been an “irresponsible adventure.”
