Hamas Urges Palestinian Journalists to Report on Gaza’s Catastrophic Conditions

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Hamas spokesperson Hazem Qassem has urged Palestinian journalists to reflect the catastrophic conditions in Gaza. In a statement addressing the continued military assaults and blockade by the Israeli regime on the Gaza Strip, Qassem emphasized that the residents of Gaza, despite immense pressures, maintain hope for the future.
Qassem described the grim reality faced by Gazans, stating, ‘People emerge from their tents without knowing if they will return, if they will be targeted by bombing, or if they will find their tents engulfed in flames upon their return.’ He added, ‘We begin our day from the earliest hours of dawn searching for the most basic necessities of life, from obtaining drinking water to using vehicles that are virtually destroyed, while hospitals have collapsed, medicines are scarce, and the educational system is in ruins. People move through ruined streets where sewage flows, and the displaced are forced to set up their tents alongside this sewage. These tents become ovens for their inhabitants in the intense summer heat.’
Hamas, in its statement, has requested Palestinian journalists to document and disseminate these circumstances, thereby informing the global community more comprehensively about the dire and chaotic situation in the Gaza Strip.
Since the commencement of the destructive war by the Israeli regime against the Gaza Strip, occupation forces have deliberately targeted civilian and service facilities, streets, water wells, cultural and educational centers, hospitals, and pilgrimage sites. The long-standing blockade of the Gaza Strip, in addition to the dire conditions resulting from the war, has created severe livelihood challenges for the inhabitants of the region.
