Iran Reiterates Unwavering Support for Resistance Axis, Citing Legitimate Right to Respond to Israel
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Dr. Syed Nasser Abbas Shirazi, a senior member of Pakistan’s Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen party and a seasoned regional affairs expert, emphasized in an exclusive interview with Mehr News Agency that the Islamic Republic of Iran has demonstrated through its practical measures that it will not cease supporting the resistance axis, especially Lebanon, Palestine, and other resistance movements, and is prepared to bear any cost and make sacrifices to defend this front.
He stated that during negotiations with the United States and the Islamabad peace process, Iran had put forth the establishment of a ceasefire in Lebanon as one of its primary conditions. These conditions were also referenced by the Prime Minister of Pakistan at that juncture. Subsequently, when the Zionist regime violated the ceasefire, Iran delivered a decisive response, which is considered its legal and legitimate right under international law.
Dr. Nasser Abbas Shirazi, referring to the recent memorandum of understanding, noted that this document underscores the necessity of an immediate ceasefire in Lebanon, indicating that Iran views maintaining regional stability and supporting resistance forces as a fundamental part of its policies.
He added that despite repeated ceasefire violations by the Zionist regime, Iran clearly showed that it would not leave the resistance front alone. Iran’s actions conveyed the message that the Islamic Republic possesses the necessary capability and will to defend resistance forces and preserve the balance of power in the region.
The member of the Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen party described the Zionist regime as a “regime based on genocidal policies,” stating that after committing extensive atrocities in Gaza and Lebanon, this regime is attempting to push the region and the world toward a comprehensive crisis. However, he asserted that its true face is now more apparent than ever to global public opinion.
He also pointed out that the Lebanese resistance has presented serious challenges to the Zionist regime in various arenas, inflicting heavy blows on its military claims and undermining many perceptions of Israeli military superiority.
Dr. Nasser Abbas Shirazi concluded by stressing that the resistance axis will remain committed to its principled goals and positions and will not retreat from its path and ideals under any pressure.
