Venezuelan Earthquake Death Toll Surpasses 3,000, Thousands Injured

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Jorge Rodríguez, the Speaker of Venezuela’s Parliament, has released the latest official figures following the devastating earthquake on June 24. The total number of fatalities from the disaster has now climbed to 3,342, with an additional 16,740 people sustaining injuries.

The 7.5 magnitude earthquake, which was unusual for the region in recent years, has caused extensive infrastructural damage. Reports indicate that 190 buildings were completely destroyed, and 856 other units suffered severe damage. Government data shows that 17,345 people have been displaced so far. The government has managed the relief efforts for over 86,000 families, distributing more than 9,500 tons of food supplies.

During search and rescue operations, emergency personnel successfully extricated 6,462 individuals from the rubble. A total of 23,820 injured persons are currently receiving medical care in treatment facilities. This earthquake has been characterized as one of the deadliest natural disasters in the region in recent times.
