Explosions in Damascus Injure 18, Including Police

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Syria’s Interior Ministry announced that two bombs, one placed in a parked car and another in a trash can, exploded outside the security cordon designated for the French President’s accommodation. This incident resulted in 18 individuals being wounded, including four police officers, in the vicinity of the Ministry of Tourism.

Local sources reported to Russia Today that the Deputy Minister of Tourism of Syria was among those injured in the explosions. Earlier, the Élysée Palace stated that French President Emmanuel Macron, during his visit to Syria and en route to the Presidential Palace, did not hear the explosions that occurred moments before in Damascus. The Élysée added that Macron’s itinerary for the visit would proceed as planned despite the incidents.
