Najaf Prepares for Massive Funeral Procession for Iran’s Martyred Leader

Najaf Province has finalized extensive security and logistical plans for the upcoming funeral procession of Iran’s martyred leader, anticipating over one million attendees. The official ceremony is set to commence tonight at Najaf International Airport, followed by a public procession tomorrow morning.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Najaf Province has held continuous meetings with security, service, and social institutions, as well as the Huseiniya caravan committee, to ensure full readiness for the funeral of Iran’s martyred leader. Ahmad al-Fatlawi, the official spokesperson for the Governor of Najaf al-Ashraf, announced that preparations have been ongoing since the announcement of the funeral’s schedule.

Al-Fatlawi stated that the official procession will begin at 9:00 PM tonight at Najaf al-Ashraf International Airport, with the participation of senior Iraqi officials and several foreign delegations. The public procession is scheduled to start at 6:00 AM tomorrow.

Responding to inquiries about the expected attendance, al-Fatlawi projected that the number of participants will undoubtedly exceed one million, and could potentially be significantly higher. Official and public delegations have been arriving in Najaf since yesterday, and it is anticipated that attendees will come from various Iraqi provinces and other countries.

The spokesperson for the Governor of Najaf al-Ashraf also confirmed that joint civil defense teams have completed a special plan for the transfer route of the martyred leader’s body from Najaf Airport to the Holy Shrine of Imam Ali, and then to Karbala, before the body is transported to Mashhad, Iran. Al-Fatlawi emphasized that other security agencies, reinforced by additional forces from Baghdad and other provinces, will be involved in implementing the security plan. He highlighted the province’s extensive experience in managing massive pilgrimages, assuring that all necessary arrangements have been made for the success and grandeur of the funeral ceremony.
