Venezuela Earthquake Toll Surpasses 5,200, Search Efforts Continue
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, news sources have reported an increase in the number of victims from the Venezuela earthquake, reaching over five thousand two hundred people. These sources indicate that the search for missing individuals is continuing.
Yesterday, Jorge Rodríguez, President of Venezuela’s National Assembly, had announced the death toll from two severe earthquakes that struck the country on June 24, 2026 (July 3, 1405), at five thousand one hundred and nineteen people. Rodríguez had stated in a message on his X social media account regarding the latest developments of the 7.2 and 7.5 magnitude earthquakes in Venezuela that the number of fatalities had increased by 50, while the official number of injured remained unchanged for over a week at 16,740.
Search and rescue operations in Venezuela are still underway amidst concerns about rising casualties, while the United Nations Development Programme had previously announced that the estimated cost of direct material damages from the country’s recent earthquakes is close to $6.7 billion.
