Trump Facing Military Stalemate, Analyst Says

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Trita Parsi, Executive Vice President of the Quincy Institute, has reacted to U.S. President Donald Trump‘s assertion regarding compensation for damages to ships and maritime cargo from Iran’s blocked funds. Parsi posted a message on social media platform X in response to Trump’s statement, writing that if resuming hostilities had been successful, Trump would not need to issue such a tweet. He emphasized that these threats indicate Trump is once again stepping towards a military deadlock.

Donald Trump, the President of the United States, recently claimed that any damages incurred by ships in the Strait of Hormuz, commercial cargo, or anything related to them, would be compensated from Iran’s assets in the United States. He stated that the damages to the ships could be substantial and alleged that compensating for these losses from Iran’s assets is a “fair action.” Trump, claiming to “ensure freedom of navigation” and keep the Strait of Hormuz open, increased the U.S. military presence in the region. Now that he has been unable to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and is under severe pressure due to a renewed rise in oil prices, he is making unsubstantiated statements out of desperation.
