Former US Counter-Terrorism Chief: Nuclear Weapons Deter US Attack

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Joe Kent, former Director of the U.S. National Counterterrorism Center, has criticized Washington’s policies towards Iran. In a message posted on the social media platform X, Kent stated that if the objective was non-proliferation, then efforts toward that goal have been foolishly undermined.

Kent referenced the U.S. aggression and the assassination of a “martyred leader,” asserting that by killing Ayatollah [Name omitted as it was not present in the original text] and attacking Iran, it has been demonstrated that Iran’s strategy of not developing nuclear weapons and maintaining uranium enrichment capabilities is insufficient to prevent U.S. aggression.

The former U.S. official added that if Iran’s name were replaced with North Korea, it would be evident to the world that the only factor preventing a U.S. attack is nuclear weaponry.
