Libyans Protest, Demand Government Ouster Amidst Widespread Unrest

Mass protests erupted in Tripoli, Libya, as demonstrators blocked key roads and demanded the removal of the national unity government, citing recurring power outages and deteriorating living conditions.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Tripoli, the capital of Libya, has witnessed the commencement of widespread public protests following the closure of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs building by protest movements. Demonstrators, rallying in various parts of Tripoli, are calling for the dismissal of the national unity government led by Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh. Protesters obstructed major routes in the Al-Jazira Al-Gharqani, Al-Ghairan, and Al-Nibras districts by setting tires ablaze. The Libyan public’s demonstrations are a response to persistent power cuts and the worsening state of public services and livelihood conditions in the country. Witnesses also reported gunfire directed at protesters in front of the western Tripoli power plant.
