Netanyahu to Discuss Iran With Trump in High-Stakes Washington Meeting

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu traveled to Washington on Monday for a meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump. This marks Netanyahu’s eighth encounter with Trump since the U.S. President returned to power and their first meeting since February, just prior to the commencement of a joint military operation targeting Iran.

In a video statement released during his departure, Netanyahu asserted, “In these complex times, one must act with firm resolve and great wisdom. We will discuss all issues on the agenda, especially Iran. Our objective, naturally, is to safeguard our security as well as expand the circle of peace around us.”

The Israeli regime did not participate in the approximately two-week-long U.S. aggressive operation against Iran earlier this month.

Netanyahu has acknowledged in recent weeks that he and Trump have experienced disagreements, suggesting a divergence in Israeli and American interests within the region. Tensions between the two leaders were highlighted by a contentious phone call in June, during which the U.S. President reportedly referred to the Israeli Prime Minister as “crazy.” This incident, initially leaked to the media, was later publicly confirmed by Trump himself.
