Maritime Traffic Declines 56% in Bab al-Mandab Strait Amid Yemen Warnings
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, data compiled by Kepler, a maritime tracking firm, indicates a significant 56% reduction in commercial ship movements within the Bab al-Mandab Strait. This decline is attributed to warnings from Yemen and the naval blockade implemented against Saudi Arabia.
Earlier reports from Windward, a maritime intelligence company, revealed that crude oil loadings at Saudi Arabia’s Yanbu port had decreased by 40% following July 19.
A Yemeni source confirmed that the decision prohibiting Saudi vessels from passing remains in effect, with Yemen’s armed forces vowing to prevent any Saudi ships from transiting. This maritime blockade against Saudi Arabia is a direct response to Riyadh’s blockade of Yemen.
