Iran’s Advanced ‘Hadid 110’ Drone Deployed, Signaling Message to U.S.
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, The Telegraph reported on Tuesday that Iran has upgraded its ‘Hadid 110’ suicide drone, enhancing its capabilities to fly at lower altitudes, achieve higher speeds, and evade detection.
This new radar-evading drone, equipped with a jet engine and capable of reaching speeds exceeding 300 miles per hour (approximately 480 kilometers per hour), is designed to penetrate U.S. air defense systems. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has announced that this drone was operationalized for the first time over the past two weeks, with launches directed at U.S. bases and warships in the region.
The Telegraph indicates that this is an advanced version of the standard ‘Hadid 110’ model, a weapon that Iranian officials consider one of their most potent assets. The key distinctions of the new ‘Hadid 110’ are its speed and stealth capabilities. While most Iranian offensive drones are propeller-driven, this model features a turbojet engine, boosting its speed to 316 miles per hour and making it Iran’s fastest known drone.
The drone is launched using a solid-fuel booster, propelling it to the necessary speed and altitude before the jet engine engages, allowing for rapid deployment on the battlefield. Its high speed provides a significant advantage in combat. Air defense systems typically operate by detecting and intercepting incoming threats.
The Telegraph further noted that the new ‘Hadid 110’ is engineered to minimize this detection window, striking its target before defensive guns and missiles can react. The drone’s exterior design is also optimized for radar evasion, with experts describing its body as a seamless, unibody structure without visible bolts or fasteners.
According to the report, the new weapon, unveiled amidst the ongoing conflict, represents more than just a display of firepower; it signifies the intent and resolve of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. The emergence of this drone coincided with an unusual shift in the war’s dynamics, serving as a message to the U.S. administration.
