Ukraine Braces for Toughest Winter Since War’s Start Amidst Energy Infrastructure Damage
Ukraine is anticipating its most challenging winter since the conflict began, as significant damage to its energy infrastructure hinders reconstruction efforts and impacts electricity generation.
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Ukraine is preparing for the most difficult winter season since the commencement of the ongoing war. Officials in the Ukrainian energy sector have indicated that the country’s energy infrastructure has sustained severe blows, with many facilities targeted and facing lengthy reconstruction processes.
Electricity generation has been halted at power plants numbers 5 and 6 in Kyiv. Earlier, the Ukrainian Minister of Energy had urged citizens to prepare themselves for a harsh winter ahead.
This comes as Moscow reported an increase in the intensity of attacks by Ukrainian armed forces on fuel depots within Russia.
