Iraq Denies Involvement in Drone Attacks on Saudi Oil Facilities

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, in response to Riyadh’s assertions of drone attacks originating from Iraqi soil against Saudi Arabian oil facilities, the spokesperson for the Commander-in-Chief of the Iraqi Armed Forces stated that there is no evidence to support these claims. Sabah al-Nu’man emphasized that Iraq requires the presentation of documents and evidence pertaining to the alleged attacks from within Iraq.

He further elaborated that Iraqi security forces are responsible for ensuring the country’s sovereignty, noting that Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi’s visit to the headquarters of the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) confirms the PMF’s integral role in the national defense system. The senior Iraqi official stressed that the Iraqi government does not permit any individual actions from within the country, nor will it accept any violations originating from outside its borders.

These statements from the Iraqi military spokesperson come in the wake of American-Saudi aggressor fighter jets targeting PMF headquarters across several Iraqi provinces in the early hours of Wednesday, resulting in the martyrdom of at least 20 individuals and injuries to dozens.

Saudi Arabia’s Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Defense issued statements claiming these attacks were in retaliation for the targeting of the kingdom’s oil facilities by Iraqi resistance groups. This claim has now been further exposed as baseless following the assertions made by this senior Iraqi military official.
