Ukraine Claims Drone Strikes on Five Russian Tankers in Black Sea

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the commander of the drone forces of the Ukrainian Army claimed to have targeted five Russian oil tankers in the Black Sea. This assertion was published by the Mehr News Agency, citing Al Jazeera.

The Ukrainian official further alleged, “We targeted a Russian unmanned surface vessel maintenance base on the Crimean peninsula.”

The General Staff of the Ukrainian Army also reported long-range attacks on a major oil refinery in the Perm region of Russia. The Russian news agency TASS announced that a Ukrainian drone attack had damaged port infrastructure in the Kuban region of southern Russia.

These developments come as Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that eight people were killed and dozens injured in a large-scale Russian missile attack across several provinces of his country. Zelensky also stated that Russia used 74 missiles, predominantly ballistic, and approximately 300 drones of various types in its latest round of attacks on Ukraine.

Conversely, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that its air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 258 Ukrainian drones over the past night. The drones were downed across the regions of Belgorod, Bryansk, Voronezh, Volgograd, Penza, Rostov, Tambov, Krasnodar, Crimea, the Republic of Adygea, and over the waters of the Sea of Azov and the Black Sea.
