Iraq Boosts Air Defense Readiness Amid Regional Tensions
Baghdad has ordered heightened vigilance and preparedness across all military bases and garrisons as it seeks to bolster its air defense capabilities. This move follows recent U.S. and Saudi actions targeting Hashd al-Shaabi positions, which resulted in significant casualties.
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Iraq‘s Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces has mandated an elevated state of alertness and readiness at all military installations throughout the country. This directive aims to enhance preemptive intelligence operations designed to thwart any potential attacks or infiltrations.
Furthermore, officials have indicated a plan to accelerate the deployment of advanced radar systems and air defense platforms to Iraqi forces. These measures are being implemented in the wake of recent military actions attributed to the United States and Saudi Arabia against Hashd al-Shaabi sites. The attacks reportedly led to the death of at least 20 individuals and left 32 others wounded.
