US Embassy Warns Citizens in Middle East Amid Regional Tensions

The U.S. Embassy in Jordan has urged American citizens in the Middle East to consider departing the region if tensions escalate, citing potential disruptions to travel and increased security risks.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the U.S. Embassy in Jordan issued a security alert on Saturday, advising Americans to exercise increased caution and vigilance. The advisory recommended that U.S. citizens currently in the Middle East be prepared for possible flight cancellations, periodic airspace closures, and other travel disruptions.

Furthermore, Americans outside the Middle East were strongly advised to carefully re-evaluate plans to travel to or transit through the region. The embassy specifically recommended that all U.S. citizens avoid traveling to military bases within Jordan and urged citizens to adhere to official warnings and follow the directives of Jordanian authorities.

These warnings come amid a backdrop of heightened regional activity. Earlier on Saturday, Kuwait reported intercepting drones. Concurrently, an oil tanker off the coast of Oman, near the Strait of Hormuz, was reportedly struck by an unidentified missile.
