Car Bomb Explodes Near Police Station in Cucuta, Colombia, Injuring 11

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, at least 11 people were injured on Saturday following the explosion of a car bomb planted near a police station in the city of Cucuta, close to the Colombia-Venezuela border. The blast occurred six days before the inauguration ceremony of Abelardo de la Espriella, the president-elect of Colombia.

French news agency, quoting local officials in the country, announced that eight police officers and three civilians were wounded in the attack.

As of now, no individual or group has claimed responsibility for this explosion.

The explosion took place while Colombia is facing heightened armed violence and attacks from guerrilla groups and drug traffickers ahead of the inauguration ceremony of the president-elect.
