Two Helicopters Collide and Crash During Firefighting Operations West of Athens

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Greek television network ERT reported on Sunday that two helicopters collided and crashed while engaged in firefighting operations west of Athens. One of the helicopter pilots made radio contact with the fire department’s command center, but the fate of the second helicopter’s crew is still uncertain.

The Hellenic Fire Service announced that extensive search and rescue operations have been launched in the area near the village of Psatha. Meanwhile, the intense flames of the wildfire, located approximately 50 kilometers west of Athens, have advanced to within a few kilometers of the city of Megara, which has a population of over 36,000.
