Guardian: US War on Iran Spiraling Out of Control, Threatens Global Economy

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, The Guardian newspaper has reported that the United States’ conflict with Iran is rapidly spiraling out of control, with the scope of the confrontation extending across West Asia over the past week. The newspaper noted that there have been attacks and retaliatory strikes against American facilities and assets in at least five other countries.

The Guardian added that U.S. President Donald Trump has initiated a regional conflict instead of a swift war with Iran, carrying the risk of severe disruption to energy supply and prices, and potentially triggering a global economic recession. Following a few days of relative calm, hostilities resumed with near-nightly Pentagon attacks against Iran and retaliatory measures by Tehran targeting U.S. military bases in the region.

The report further stated that the most serious escalation occurred on Wednesday, when Saudi Arabia announced its participation with the United States in a series of airstrikes inside Iraq targeting the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF), resulting in at least 20 fatalities. This action has increased the risk of further tension escalation in the region.
