Trump Claims Control Over Strait of Hormuz, Threatens Iran With Blockade

U.S. President Donald Trump asserted full American control over the Strait of Hormuz, warning that nothing will reach Iran without U.S. approval and that the vital waterway is effectively under American blockade. The comments come amid escalating tensions and domestic political pressures on the President.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, U.S. President Donald Trump on Monday posted on his social media platform, Truth Social, stating that Iran’s officials are seeking meetings, or as some put it, ‘begging,’ for negotiations to commence. He claimed that while Iranian officials insist there are no discussions and they are only dealing with Oman, the reality is that the Strait of Hormuz is completely under the control of the United States Navy, described as an American ‘blockade’ or ‘steel wall’.

Trump further asserted that nothing will reach Iran unless the U.S. permits it, and nothing will pass unless an agreement is reached or full surrender occurs. The U.S. President, who reportedly anticipates electoral defeat for his party ahead of Congressional elections, made these claims in a move seen as a media stunt to deflect domestic criticism regarding the costly consequences of his military actions.

Disregarding the peaceful nature of Iran’s nuclear program, Trump alleged that regardless of Iran’s willingness to accept, the U.S. is discussing a resolution to a problem that Iran itself has created over several decades. He concluded by stating unequivocally that Iran will never obtain nuclear weapons.
