UN Reports Over 150 Palestinian Deaths in July Gaza Strip Israeli Attacks

The United Nations has reported that Israeli military actions in the Gaza Strip during July resulted in the deaths of over 150 Palestinians, marking the highest monthly fatality count this year. These attacks also caused damage to a medical equipment warehouse near Al-Aqsa Hospital.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Farhan Haq, the Deputy Spokesperson for the Secretary-General of the United Nations, announced at a press conference at the organization’s headquarters in New York that Israeli army attacks on the Gaza Strip last July resulted in over 150 Palestinian deaths. This figure represents the highest monthly death toll since the beginning of the current year.

Haq stated that Israel continued its airstrikes, artillery shelling, and gunfire in the Gaza Strip over the weekend, which led to the deaths of several civilians, including children. Citing a report from the Palestinian Ministry of Health, he indicated that more than 150 fatalities were recorded in July, with the majority of these attacks occurring in the western areas of the Gaza Strip, where a significant portion of the region’s approximately 2.1 million inhabitants are concentrated.

The Deputy Spokesperson for the UN Secretary-General also disclosed that one of Israel’s airstrikes damaged a warehouse containing medical equipment near Al-Aqsa Hospital. He added that the World Health Organization reported that the hospital building sustained partial damage, and vital medical supplies, including recent shipments from the organization, were destroyed.

Haq reiterated the necessity of protecting medical facilities and warned that a lack of financial resources is exacerbating the crisis of essential medical equipment shortages in Gaza. He concluded by noting that the entry of additional equipment for the prevention and treatment of infections and diseases remains pending approval from Israeli authorities.
