Iraqi Hezbollah Considers Revising Response to US-Saudi Attack

The Iraqi Hezbollah, specifically the Sayyid al-Shuhada Brigades, has announced a reconsideration of the timing, scale, and nature of its response to a recent attack attributed to Saudi Arabia and the United States. This strategic review comes amid calls from prominent Iraqi political figures for a delayed reaction.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Abu al-Aala al-Walaei, the Secretary-General of the Sayyid al-Shuhada Brigades in Iraq, stated on his social media account that the Islamic Resistance in Iraq’s decision to postpone its response was made following requests from leaders of the “Coordination Framework,” notably Mujahid Hadi al-Amiri, the Secretary-General of the Badr Organization, as well as independent politicians.

The statement further indicated that a review of the timing, scale, and type of response remains a priority, describing it as an ideological and national duty that Iraqi fighters, families of martyrs, the wounded, and the honorable are eager to fulfill. Al-Walaei emphasized that relevant officials should leverage this opportunity to secure Iraq’s rights and ensure a response commensurate with the damages and harm inflicted upon the nation and its people by the “oppressive aggression.”

The Islamic Resistance in Iraq had previously announced on Friday that, in response to the call of the esteemed Mujahid, Hajj Abu Hassan al-Amiri, and in reaction to the honorable stances of some dignified political leaders, it was decided to postpone the planned response for today, the 23rd of Safar al-Khair. Hadi al-Amiri, head of the Badr Organization and the Fatah parliamentary coalition in Iraq, had previously called for a delay in the military reaction of resistance groups to the recent Saudi and American attack on the headquarters of the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF), citing Iraqi national interests.
