Syrian Resistance Group Claims Attack on Israeli Military Base in Southern Syria

The ‘Oli Al-Ba’s’ resistance group announced on Monday morning that it targeted an Israeli military base in the western Daraa region of southern Syria. The group released video footage claiming to show parts of a direct and focused assault on the Al-Akkou base within the Al-Jazeera garrison.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the ‘Oli Al-Ba’s’ group announced on Monday morning that it had targeted an Israeli military base in the western Daraa region of southern Syria. The attack reportedly occurred at the Al-Akkou base, part of the Al-Jazeera garrison belonging to the Israeli army, located in the Yarmouk Basin area in the western outskirts of Daraa.

‘Oli Al-Ba’s’ published video footage claiming to show parts of a direct and focused assault on this base. The group stated that the attack was carried out in response to recent Israeli aggressions in southern Syria and as retribution for the victims.

Since its formation in recent months, ‘Oli Al-Ba’s’ has claimed responsibility for several clashes with Israeli forces in southern Syria. The group first announced its existence on January 9, 2025, under the name “Southern Liberation Front,” through Telegram, stating it possessed military equipment belonging to the Bashar al-Assad regime. Subsequently, the group reported conducting several operations against Israeli forces, with one such operation taking place on January 13, 2025.

On January 11, 2026, ‘Oli Al-Ba’s’ changed its name to “Syrian Islamic Resistance Front – Oli Al-Ba’s.” The group cited the existence of other groups using the former name in the same region as the reason for the name change.
