US Intelligence Report Reveals Severe Manpower and Missile Shortages for Ukraine’s Military

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, based on data published by Mehr News Agency, citing TASS News Agency, U.S. intelligence services have acknowledged that the Ukrainian army is facing a severe deficit in manpower and interceptor missiles. This assessment was detailed in a report prepared by inspectors general from the U.S. Department of Defense (Pentagon), the Department of State, and the U.S. Agency for International Development. The report, covering the period from April 1 to June 30, 2026, has been forwarded to the U.S. Congress for review.

The report, drawing on estimates from Pentagon intelligence agencies, specified that limitations in manpower and military equipment continue to be the primary obstacles hindering the Ukrainian forces’ ability to sustain effective combat operations. Furthermore, the report underscored Ukraine‘s continued heavy reliance on the supply of Western armaments, describing this dependence as “unstable.” This is attributed to the fact that donor countries have other priorities that require attention alongside the Ukraine dossier.

The document elaborates that Ukraine is particularly suffering from a shortage of necessary interceptor missiles to counter ballistic missiles. This deficiency has left Ukraine heavily reliant on the external support of its allies for a significant portion of its air and missile defense capabilities.

The aforementioned report acknowledged the failure of Ukraine’s efforts to contain Russia’s ground advances, emphasizing that Ukrainian forces have been unable to take sufficient action to halt the progress of Russian troops on the battlefield.
