Taliban Foreign Minister: No Need for Talks with Opposition

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Amir Khan Muttaqi, the interim foreign minister of the Taliban government in Afghanistan, announced in an interview with the BBC that there are no problems within Afghanistan, making any further initiation of dialogue with opposition factions unnecessary.

Addressing the issue of international recognition, five years after the Taliban’s return to power, Muttaqi noted that despite only Russia officially recognizing their government, over 40 countries maintain diplomatic representation in Afghanistan, indicating no significant issues in relations with the global community.

Muttaqi further added that there is no guarantee that recognizing the Taliban government would resolve all existing problems.

It is noteworthy that Russia officially recognized the interim Taliban government in Afghanistan last year.
