Trump Envoys Wittcoff and Kushner Arrive in Moscow With New Ukraine Proposals

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Steve Wittcoff, President Donald Trump’s special envoy, accompanied by the president’s son-in-law Jared Kushner, is anticipated to arrive in Moscow bearing tangible proposals for resolving the Ukraine crisis. This information was revealed by Oleg Karpovich, head of a department at the Diplomatic Academy of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO) and a corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Education, in an interview with the TASS news agency.
Karpovich emphasized that Wittcoff and Kushner are not arriving empty-handed, stating they possess specific ideas. He asserted that their trip would be unproductive without practical proposals, highlighting their role as mediators engaged in shuttle diplomacy.
He further elaborated on internal dynamics within Trump’s circle, noting the existence of diverse factions. Some advocate for normalizing relations with Russia, while others oppose Russia and support Ukraine. This internal contention within the administration, he suggested, accounts for the differing stances between President Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has previously stated that the root causes of the Ukraine conflict must be addressed. He maintains that the original objectives of the special military operation remain unchanged and must be achieved.
