Moscow Warns of Ukrainian Attacks on Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant

Russia has issued a stern warning regarding potential Ukrainian attacks on the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, citing violations of nuclear safety principles by Kyiv. Meanwhile, a visit by the IAEA Director General to Russia remains unconfirmed.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Alexey Likhachev, head of the Russian state nuclear corporation Rosatom, announced on Tuesday that a new date for a potential visit by International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director General Rafael Grossi to Russia has not yet been set.

Likhachev stated that Grossi has clearly indicated that his trip to Enerhodar was disrupted solely by the Kyiv regime. He asserted that Kyiv is violating all nuclear safety principles through its attacks on the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant and Enerhodar.

The head of Rosatom further added that the international community will eventually recognize that the sole nuclear threat at the Zaporizhzhia plant stems from the reckless actions of the Ukrainian armed forces. He emphasized that Kyiv targets Enerhodar’s civilian and energy infrastructure daily, with the Ukrainian military deliberately shelling the city.
