Israeli Defense Minister Warns Erdogan Against ‘Dangerous Adventures’ in Syria

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, recent inflammatory statements from Israeli officials targeting Turkey and its president have escalated. Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz stated that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is steering the country toward perilous ventures in Syria. Katz emphasized that Israel will permit no one to jeopardize its security.
Katz further advised Erdogan to persist with his rhetorical opposition to Israel within the Turkish parliament rather than testing Israel’s resolve to defend itself. The Israeli Defense Minister asserted that the Turkish president is pursuing unnecessary risks in Syria and consistently endeavors to draw Ankara into such endeavors.
These remarks from the Israeli minister come in the wake of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s statements following airstrikes on the Al-Dhuhor base in Syria, which reportedly hosted Turkish military personnel. Netanyahu declared that Israel would not tolerate the presence of Turkish forces in Syria if they posed a threat to Tel Aviv. He reiterated Israel’s explicit opposition to Turkey’s military involvement in Syria, suggesting that their stance had not been adequately heeded, leading Israel to take further action to convey its message more forcefully.
