Qatar Confirms Prime Minister’s Visit to Tehran for De-escalation Talks

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Qatar has officially confirmed the upcoming visit of its Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mohammed bin Abdulrahman, to Tehran. The trip, scheduled for tomorrow, is aimed at exploring avenues for reducing regional tensions and creating an environment conducive to dialogue. This announcement was made by Majid Al-Ansari, the spokesperson for the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs, citing information from Al Jazeera.

Al-Ansari further elaborated that freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz will be a central topic during the Prime Minister’s discussions in Tehran. He emphasized that Qatar views diplomacy as the primary means to bolster regional security, and this visit underscores that commitment.

The Qatari Foreign Ministry spokesperson added that the Prime Minister will also address the necessity of restoring navigation in the Strait of Hormuz to its status prior to February 28, 2026 (Esfand 9, 1404). This initiative highlights Qatar’s ongoing efforts to maintain stability and facilitate maritime commerce in a critical global waterway.
