Trump shared a link to a Washington Post article with the headline ‘Syria intends to replace the Strait of Hormuz’ and commented, “This is great.” The report highlights Trump’s embrace of this speculative idea, which comes at a time of significant maritime traffic through the critical chokepoint.

Additionally, Donald Trump referenced the volume of oil transported through the Strait of Hormuz, which he stated was previously 20 million barrels per day. In a message on Truth Social, he claimed, “Hormuz oil volume has returned to normal.”
