Iraq’s Foreign Minister Discusses Iran with US Envoy

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Iraq‘s Foreign Minister announced that he has engaged in discussions with the new Chargé d’Affaires of the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad concerning regional matters. The talks, which took place with Steve Fagin, also covered the Iraqi government’s approach to organizing weapons and consolidating their control within the state. Furthermore, Hussein and Fagin deliberated on the repercussions of the war and sanctions against Iran and their consequent effects on Iraq. The Foreign Minister highlighted that regional conflicts and the potential closure of the Strait of Hormuz have a significant bearing on Iraq’s economy, which is primarily reliant on oil exports and the revenues derived from them.
