Hamas Praises Global Support for Palestinian Cause Amidst UN General Assembly
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Hamas announced that it is closely following the political and diplomatic activities surrounding the United Nations General Assembly in New York, as well as the statements and positions of Arab, Islamic, and friendly countries that support the rights of the Palestinian people.
The group emphasized its gratitude for the explicit stances of Arab, Islamic, and many other nations worldwide that have condemned the ongoing aggression and violations against the Palestinian population in the Gaza Strip. Hamas highlighted the calls for an immediate cessation of these actions, the lifting of the blockade, the unhindered flow of humanitarian aid, and the accountability of the Zionist occupation forces for alleged massacres, genocide, and egregious violations against civilians.
Hamas also acknowledged and appreciated the Arab, Islamic, and international opposition to the settlement expansion projects and forced displacement plans pursued by the Israeli occupation government in the West Bank and occupied Jerusalem. The statement reaffirmed the Palestinian people’s commitment to their land and national rights, vowing to resist all efforts aimed at undermining the Palestinian cause or imposing new realities by force.
While welcoming any serious regional and international efforts that contribute to alleviating the suffering of the Palestinian people and ending the aggression against them, Hamas stressed the importance of translating the positions, meetings, and statements issued by Arab and Muslim leaders and ministers into effective political and diplomatic actions. The group urged for the implementation of real pressure to halt the violations of Palestinian rights by the Israeli occupation regime and compel them to adhere to their commitments, agreements, and understandings.
The statement concluded by asserting that any political plan or initiative under discussion must be based on respect for the will of the Palestinian people and their inalienable national rights. These rights, Hamas stated, foremost include their inherent right to self-determination, the end of the occupation, and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.
