India’s Foreign Minister Expresses Concerns Over US Sanctions on Russia and Iran

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, India‘s External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar has voiced New Delhi’s apprehension over United States sanctions that target nations for acquiring energy from Russia and Iran. The concerns were formally presented during a meeting with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

In a statement on the social media platform X, formerly Twitter, Jaishankar emphasized that he “reiterated India’s interests and concerns” with regard to “the law on sanctions against Russia and Iran.” He further indicated that discussions between the two officials also encompassed the evolving situations in the Persian Gulf region and Ukraine.

Secretary of State Rubio, in a separate post on X, affirmed that the United States and India are strengthening their strategic partnership and are “coordinating on key regional priorities and upcoming multilateral efforts.”
