Iraq Reopens Najaf Airport to Iranian Flights Within 24 Hours

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Yasser Abdul Zahra Al-Hajjaj, the Ambassador of Iraq to Iran, confirmed on Monday that Najaf International Airport will be reopened to Iranian flights within the next 24 hours. Al-Hajjaj informed the Iraqi News Agency (WAA) that the Iraqi government, under the leadership of Ali Al-Zaidi, is making continuous efforts to resume air travel between the two neighboring countries, Iraq and Iran. He emphasized that no decision had been made by the government to halt flights with Iran. Al-Hajjaj further stated that Najaf International Airport will resume operations for Iranian flights within the upcoming 24-hour period. Najaf Al-Ashraf International Airport is a vital hub in Iraq, annually hosting millions of Iranian pilgrims. In recent days, flights between Iran and this airport had been suspended for various reasons, including pressure from the United States on Baghdad.
