South Korea Summons Ukraine Chargé d’Affaires Over Leaked North Korean POW Transfer

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, South Korea‘s Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned Ukrainian Chargé d’Affaires Andriy Vyshkin on Monday to express its strong objection to the leaked information regarding the transfer of two captured North Korean soldiers to South Korea. Seoul stated that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had revealed this matter last week at the United Nations General Assembly, despite an agreement between the two nations to maintain its secrecy. South Korea also described statements from the Ukrainian Presidential Office asserting the absence of such an agreement as incorrect and called for the prevention of future occurrences.

Zelensky had previously stated that these two North Korean soldiers were captured while fighting alongside Russian forces against Ukraine and were recently transferred to South Korea.
