Netanyahu Orders Legal Case Against Turkish President Erdogan Amid Rising Tensions
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has directed the formation of a legal team tasked with compiling a case against Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The objective is to present this case before the International Criminal Court.
The decision comes amid heightened friction between Ankara and Tel Aviv. Earlier, Turkey had formally requested Interpol to arrest Netanyahu, citing ongoing legal proceedings against him on charges of genocide. Akin Gürlek, Turkey’s Minister of Justice, confirmed that the country sought an Interpol Red Notice for the Israeli premier due to alleged genocide accusations.
A similar request was reportedly made for another Israeli official concerning alleged crimes against activists involved with the ‘Global Freedom Flotilla’.
In November 2024, the International Criminal Court issued international arrest warrants for Netanyahu and the former defense minister of the Israeli regime, accusing them of committing war crimes in the Gaza Strip.
