China Urges US and Iran to Recommit to Islamabad Accord

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, China has urged the United States and Iran to return to the Islamabad Accord. Guo Jiaxun, spokesperson for China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, announced on Wednesday that Beijing hopes Iran and the U.S. will “choose peace, recommit to the Islamabad Accord, and resume dialogue and negotiations as soon as possible.” Guo emphasized China’s support for resolving disputes through political and diplomatic channels, stating that Beijing has strived to halt the conflict and advance peace negotiations since the outset of the hostilities.

The spokesperson for China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs added that Beijing will continue to pursue a series of initiatives and proposals by Chinese President Xi Jinping aimed at establishing peace and stability in the Middle East. China will persist in its efforts to restore peace and tranquility to the Middle East and the Persian Gulf region.

The United States and the Israeli regime initiated hostilities against Iran on February 28. In response, Iran launched missile and drone attacks on various U.S. bases in the region, effectively halting traffic in the Strait of Hormuz.

Efforts to end the conflict have continued since the Islamabad Accord was reached on June 18. This agreement was established with the objective of achieving a final resolution and bringing the war to a close.
