Saudi Arabia Postpones ‘Davos in the Desert’ Conference to 2027 Amidst Regional Tensions

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Saudi Arabia has decided to postpone the “Davos in the Desert” conference to next year. This decision follows recent heavy assaults by the Yemeni armed forces on Saudi aerial facilities in recent weeks.
The official Saudi news agency announced that the Riyadh government has postponed the “Davos in the Desert” conference, citing a commitment to “uphold its obligations to partners, members, speakers, and participants.” This move occurs while Saudi Arabia continues its intensified attacks on civilian positions in Yemen, resulting in hundreds of Yemeni casualties in recent weeks. In response to these actions, Yemeni armed forces have targeted the vital infrastructure and economic arteries of the Al Saud regime with missile attacks.
Maha bint Mishari bin Abdulaziz, Executive Director of the “MIF” initiative (Future Investment Initiative), stated that the decision was made to ensure the tenth edition of the conference meets expectations and reflects its global standing in terms of participation, organization quality, and impact. She emphasized the initiative’s commitment to delivering an exceptional summit that honors a decade of strategic partnerships and shared visions, mirroring global perspectives on the future.
While a specific date for the 2027 conference has not been announced, all current registrations and participations will remain valid. The initiative’s teams will be in contact with stakeholders to address inquiries and provide necessary support.
The decision by the Future Investment Initiative to reschedule the tenth edition of the conference, informally dubbed “Davos in the Desert,” comes as the event was slated to take place in Riyadh from October 26 to 29, 2026.
