Biden’s agreement to ban the use of Tik Tok
Biden supported the legalization of the bill that would provide the basis for the removal of the TikTok application in the United States. |
The President of the United States, Joe Biden, on Friday supported a law that would prohibit the use of the TikTok application in the United States by various users.
According to the Associated Press, this action is being carried out in the midst of Washington’s increasing concerns about the availability of American users’ data to the Chinese government.
Biden said in an interview with reporters that if they approve such a bill, I will sign it. The Energy and Commerce Committee of the US House of Representatives has also unanimously voted for the said bill. The US House of Representatives plans to vote to ban the use of the TikTok app.
However, Donald Trump, the former president of the United States and the possible candidate of the Republican Party of this country, in a post on his social network, has opposed the ban on the use of TikTok for American users and stated that such an action paves the way for other media platforms. It opens a social network like Facebook.
His opposition comes while he tried to ban TikTok along with WeChat in 2020.
Biden’s support for the said bill comes amid a recent executive order allowing the Department of Justice and other US federal agencies to take measures to prevent the massive transfer of personal data of Americans to countries such as China.
Biden banned the use of TikTok for about 4 million federal government employees in 2022. At the same time, he shows himself to be worried because of security issues, that his election campaign joined Tik Tok last month.
