Bloomberg reported, citing sources familiar with the matter, that British cabinet ministers recently held private talks and explored the possibility that the party may have to find a replacement for Sunak before parliamentary elections this year.
According to this news agency, Sunak’s inability to make quick political decisions and reveal new promises of tax reduction has led to the possibility of her replacement.
However, Bloomberg notes that the ministers have mostly supported Sunak and think moving him would do more political damage than keeping him.
Also, no rival seems to have enough support to challenge him.
42-year-old Rishi Sunak is the youngest British Prime Minister in more than 200 years. He succeeded Liz Truss in October 2022, who holds the record for the shortest tenure as Prime Minister in British history.
