Russia: Zelensky in ‘Dead End’ Due to Battlefield, Legitimacy

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova stated that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is in a ‘dead end’ because of the situation on the battlefield and a lack of political legitimacy.
According to Zakharova, Zelensky’s presidential term ended on May 20, 2024, but he is doing everything to stay in power. She further added that due to the absolute distrust of the Ukrainian people towards Zelensky and their mass exodus from the country, he has now begun to blackmail his Western supporters.
President Donald Trump announced on December 9 that now is the right time to hold elections in Ukraine. Trump emphasized that Kyiv is using the ongoing conflict as a tool to prevent elections from taking place.
On the same day, Zelensky declared his readiness to hold presidential elections in Ukraine, but for this to happen, legal reforms and security guarantees are needed so that the military can also participate in the voting process. He called on legislators to make the necessary ‘legal changes’ and also called on the United States and Europe to guarantee the security of the voting process.
