Gulf Cooperation Council Welcomes Indirect Negotiations Between Iran and the United States
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Jassim Mohammed Al-Budaiwi, the Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), welcomed the staging of indirect negotiations between Tehran and Washington in Muscat. The statement followed data published by the Mehr News Agency regarding the diplomatic activity.
Al-Budaiwi extended his gratitude to the friendly and brotherly nation of Oman for hosting these crucial discussions. He characterized Oman’s effort as a clear demonstration of its constructive role in supporting regional and international consultations and dialogues.
The GCC Secretary-General stressed that the Council holds a strong hope that these ongoing negotiations will ultimately lead to an enhancement of tranquility, security, and overall stability across the entire region. He noted that easing tensions remains a primary objective for the member states.
Furthermore, Al-Budaiwi lauded Oman’s endeavors, deeming them valuable for bridging the perspectives of the two negotiating parties. He indicated that Oman’s facilitation provided the necessary groundwork for constructive engagement, which serves the interests of regional stability and strengthens the prospects for peace.
Concluding his remarks, Al-Budaiwi affirmed that the member states of the Gulf Cooperation Council maintain a firm emphasis on safeguarding the region’s stability and security, as well as ensuring the prosperity of their respective populations.
