US Intelligence Aware of Nord Stream Pipeline Sabotage Plot, German Magazine Reports

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, German magazine Der Spiegel has revealed that the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) possessed knowledge of a plot to sabotage the Nord Stream gas pipeline. This disclosure emerges at a time when Nikolai Patrushev, an aide to the Russian President, had previously raised the possibility of the Nord Stream pipeline’s destruction involving NATO intelligence services.
Patrushev had also indicated that British saboteurs were capable of carrying out such an explosion. On September 26, 2022, three sections of the Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 underwater pipelines sustained severe damage. The Nord Stream 2 pipeline had not yet entered operational status. The Nord Stream pipeline comprises two gas transmission lines from Russia to Germany, known as Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2.
